A Thanksgiving Perspective – What if?

By November 25, 2015 No Comments

It’s the day before Thanksgiving and all through my mind I’m wondering “what-if” – what if we had a different perspective on life and all that we have to be thankful for?  This is my Thanksgiving perspective cause I wonder if!

ThanksgivingI wonder for example – what if we were less consumer driven and more focused on gratitude?

I wonder what would happen if Thanksgiving day were a paid holiday for every employee and that no one worked on Thanksgiving day?  Wonder if employees would feel valued and be thankful that employers were not open for business?

I saw, the other day, an announcement that McDonald’s was open 24 hours on Thanksgiving and Christmas days.  Wonder if that is necessary?

Wonder if a full day of gratitude and rest – called Thanksgiving day – would have any real negative impact on our economy?  Wonder if being open on Thanksgiving is really necessary?

I wonder if we spent more time with each other, instead of on our phones or devices, wonder if that would make a difference in how we showed love to each other?  Wonder if we could actually turn them off for a day?

Wonder what would happen if we took time on Thanksgiving to give to others who are in need?  Wonder if we’d be willing to donate two hours on Thanksgiving day to feed the homeless or offer something that we have and don’t use – to give that to someone who needs it?

Wonder if we actually took time on Thanksgiving to talk to each other, hold each others hand or offer a gentle touch – I wonder if that would make a difference in our lives?

I have mused about my “what-if’s”

Wonder if you have any What-If’s you’d like to share?
